SWANA Northern Lights Chapter 2026 Conference
Waste in a World of Change
The SWANA Northern Lights Chapter 2026 Conference will be held April 22–24, 2026, at the Fairmont Palliser in Calgary, Alberta. The opening day coincides with Earth Day, a reminder of the broader context in which the waste management industry operates.
The theme, Waste in a World of Change, reflects a sector under pressure to adapt. Climate change, increasingly frequent disasters such as wildfires and floods, trade disruptions, fast-moving technology, and population growth are reshaping today’s systems. What were once considered “1-in-100-year” events now occur every few years, demanding flexibility, responsiveness, and resilience.
Join industry leaders, practitioners, and innovators for three days of learning, collaboration, facility tours, and networking in downtown Calgary. Registration details and the full program will be released soon.

Accommodation
You can book your accommodation at The Fairmont Palliser under our room block via this link: https://book.passkey.com/go/SWANA2026. Reservations must be made by midnight (Alberta time) on March 23, 2026, at which time remaining rooms in our block will be released and higher rates may apply.

NOTE: As we are nearing full capacity for the conference, we can no longer sell further extra banquet and reception tickets.
Delegate (waiting list) Registration – if accepted, we’ll invoice the following fees:
- Regular – $850
- Young Professional – $450 early / $500 regular
- Speaker – $500 – speakers can register here
Cancellation Policy: Notice of conference registration cancellation must be received in writing and after February 20, 2026, a $50 cancellation fee will apply. Tours and optional activities are not subject to the cancellation fee. Non-attendance will not constitute cancellation, and no credits or refunds will be granted after April 4, 2026.
