Manitoba 5 Year Stewardship Plan Public Consultation Webinar

You are invited to join the Thermostat Recovery Program (TRP), Canadian Battery Association (CBA), Call2Recycle, and the Health Products Stewardship Association (HPSA) for a webinar detailing the renewal of their individual Manitoba Stewardship Plans (2023–2028) for end-of-life product stewardship.

This free webinar runs on January 20, 2023, from noon to 1:00 p.m. CST. It will feature four short and informative presentations:

●     12:00: Thermostat Recovery Program (mercury and electronic thermostats), presented by Kathleen O’Malley, Environmental Projects Specialist, HRAI. A draft of TRP 5-Year Stewardship Plan (2023–2028) will be available to review on January 16 on the TRP website. Feedback can be given during the webinar, and written comments will be accepted by email until January 27, 2023, at

●     12:15: Canadian Battery Association (lead batteries), presented by Colin McKean, Executive Director. Read their draft stewardship plan online.

●     12:30: Call2Recycle (single-use batteries, rechargeable batteries, and eMobility batteries), presented byJason Brown, Director for Western Canada. Call2Recycle’s draft plan is posted at Manitoba Battery Stewardship Plan Renewal (2024-2028) – Call2Recycle® | Canada, and written comments are welcome until January 27th, 2023, via email at

●     12:45: Health Products Stewardship Association (unwanted medications and used medical sharps), presented by Delphine Lagourgue, Vice President of Stewardship Programs. Find the draft stewardship plan and feedback info online.

ARWMAS Cost of Landfilling Workshop

The Association of Regional Waste Management Authorities of Saskatchewan hosted a workshop on The Cost of Landfilling in Saskatchewan.  The workshop was presented by the SWANA Northern Lights Chapter and sponsored by the Government of Saskatchewan.
