This course will outline the basic requirements for development and operation of transfer stations and will provide operators with an understanding of standard operating procedures for best customer service, efficient operations, safety, and environmental protection

(1 day; no written exam)

You will earn 7.5 SWANA PDHs and/or 1.6 CEUs towards your Alberta Landfill Operator Certification

Course Objectives

The objective of the course is to provide information to transfer station operating staff on good operating practices and safety.  Students will learn about different transfer station designs and how they fit within waste management systems.  Students will also learn about waste diversion opportunities at a transfer station.

The course is suited to those persons who are involved in the planning, operation and supervision of transfer stations.
